From Kayak Wiki
When surfing down a breaking wave, go slightly onto one edge and drag your paddle on that same side. Your kayak will start to shoot in that direction. As soon as that happens take your paddle out of the water, but continue to lean into the wave. As you gain speed, you can drag your paddle in the water again to shoot up the face of the wave. This can be repeated several times, and is a crucial move for setting up for air blunts. Also flat spins can be incorporated into carving.
